For Immediate Release:
Cube3 creates 3D Virtual Meeting Space for Virtual Edge Summit 2009
Virtual Edge 2009 Officepodz created with Multi-user Avatars and a No Plug-in Browser Technology
Cube3, in conjunction with the Virtual Edge Summit 2009 happening May 28-29, 2009 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, has created a "Virtual Greeting Space" for the event. Located online and accessible via almost all web browsers and from both the PC and Mac, the customized C3 OfficePodz allows show visitors and those not able to attend live, access to many of the events website information areas in an active multi-user avatar space. Visitors can chat, access event schedules, maps, as well as watch videos and link to sponsor websites via a real-time 3D virtual space.
"When I became aware of the Virtual Edge 2009 event, I reached out to them thinking we could easily and quickly customize the OfficePodz for them" stated Cube3's Larry Rosenthal. "The C3 OfficePodz are designed to be easily customized graphically just as any exhibit or event system is, and since this conference was all about using virtual worlds for meetings, education, and conferences, it was a great match and proof of concept for both of us."
The C3 OfficePodz systems are designed for simple graphic/content/video customization by Cube3 for each client and can also host a complete set of customizable exhibition/corporate furniture to expand the system’s usefulness. Each OfficePodz can also be linked together to form a larger single Virtual Office World if it suits a client's needs.
The technology that offers the OfficePodz a no plug-in, multi browser-platform capability is "3DXplorer " created by Cube3 partner Altadyn. This web3d platform is one of the firsts to offer true real time 3D with Multi-user Avatars on both Macs and PC's. It also work’s in almost any web browser due to its use of a Java based technology that can offer a true mass audience reach for any client using the Officepodz on the Internet. Easy to set up and host, the Officepodz can integrate with an existing traditional client website and with the use of web based standards, can also be linked to more complex virtual world platforms like Second Life if required.
The basic OfficePodz Modules with Client Customizations and set up can be licensed starting at around $10,000 USD a year. More advanced "Meeting Packages" are available with features like invitations, record keeping and shared screen control for presentations.
