Nico Flannery-Pitcher,
Principal, Director of Interior Design

Nico Flannery Pitcher brings 20+ years of Interior Design and healthcare space planning experience throughout New England to her role at CUBE 3. Based in Boston, she provides leadership across our office locations. Nico was educated at the University of Massachusetts, University of Sussex, and Suffolk University, all of which informed her areas of expertise: strong communication skills and an interest in how design can better impact the human experience. Additionally, it is notable that Nico is one of only 32 people in the state of Massachusetts with the Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC) credential.

Clients are drawn to Nico because of her inquisitive nature and desire to get to the soul of each and every project. She carefully listens to what clients want, and uses innovation and ideation to find solutions and lead the client and design teams towards consensus. Nico is a creative problem solver and an enthusiastic learner of her craft, seeking out ideas that will create new perspectives on familiar challenges.

While her expertise reaches across business sectors, healthcare environments are of particular interest, including her expertise in ambulatory care, cancer care, and behavioral health environments. Nico has an exceptionable ability to communicate with clients and consultants to assure interior design concepts unify aesthetics and brand with the built environment to create harmonious experiences for both patients and staff. Her goal is always to guide healthcare clients to create healing environments that soothe anxious patients, and design spaces that support the wellness of overworked medical staff who provide care to their communities.

In addition to volunteer work with IIDA, Nico served as a former President of the New England Chapter, currently holds a seat as co-chair of their LEAD program for mid-career designers, and sits on the Board of Directors of the Women In Healthcare (WIH) New England Chapter. Outside of work, Nico finds inspiration in nature, traveling to the National Parks, appreciates the visual arts, dabbling in mediums that include glassblowing and stained glass, and stays grounded through meditation.
