As part of CA training on Thursday, folks from the Miami office visited the site for CASSI in Miami’s Design District.

The team on site (G.T. Construction & Development) walked us through the active construction areas, allowing us to climb all the way to the 7th floor where we got to see the 8th floor currently being formed. We got to see steel reinforcements and PT cables being laid out as well as edge of slab forming. After asking LOTS of questions on site, the team returned to the Miami office to enjoy some lunch and debrief.

Cassi (a.k.a. Prinz, a.k.a. Tower 91) is a beautifully designed 20-story mixed-use development consisting of ground level commercial uses, 107 multi-family residential units, and residential amenities. The project will infill an important section of NE 36 Street and will serve as the southern gateway into the Miami Design District, providing much needed residential uses to further diversify one of the most exciting mixed-use communities in the City of Miami and beyond.

As the southern gateway to the Design District, this project intends to serve as a preview of the magical alchemy of art, fashion, architecture and gastronomy that permeates the Design District. Our design team proposed an architecturally intriguing building, featuring a prominent V-shaped wing design on the Principal Frontage (NE 36th Street) and angular waved balconies on the Secondary Frontages (NE 1 Avenue and NE Miami Place). The architectural treatment of the podium parking garage will be designed by a world-class artist and will continue in the Design District’s tradition of turning common areas into artistic focal points throughout the neighborhood. Overall, the project will be a one-of-a-kind building and welcomed addition to the Miami skyline.
